Courses
The Alberta Soccer Association has several coaches courses available depending on the level you are currently coaching or level you wish to coach.
ADSA will notify you when we are hosting a course, where you can register free of charge. You may also check the ASA website to see who else is hosting a course and register there. ADSA will reimburse you the fee for taking the course.
As a Club team coach, you would be most interested in the Fundamentals (U6- U9), Learn 2 Train (U10 - U13) and/or Soccer 4 Life (14+) workshops.

Travel Permits
Are you going to a tournament? You may need a travel permit! Travel permits are required when travelling within Canada, United States and Internationally for tournaments and training camps.
Purpose of a travel permit:
- They provide protection to the traveling team. Travel permits are only approved if the tournament is sanctioned by the associated Provincial, State or National Soccer Association. Restricting travel to tournaments not affiliated with a parent body reduces the risk to teams, as they know they are travelling to a real tournament with universal standards.
- They provide protection to the tournament. By requiring a travel permit, tournament organizers know who will attend their event. Travel permits reduce the risk to tournament organizers ensuring the tam and players are properly registered and in good standing with their league.
- They provide protection to the players. All players and team officials attending a sanctioned event in Alberta are covered under ASA insurance policy. Travel permits extend this coverage beyond Alberta's boarders for the duration of the tournament.
CMSA has put together a handbook to help guide you through the season. Please refer to this for an outline on coaching and for instructions on how to use demosphere.
All Club League coaches are required to read and understand the CMSA Rules. This document must be used for reference on all details of this league. The rules must be followed at all times and it is mandatory for every ADSA Club League official to read through these and understand them before the season begins
